החברה הכלכלית לאילת הינה זרוע מרכזית וחשובה בהתפתחות העיר אילת וחיזוק חוסנה הכלכלי.
החברה הוקמה על ידי עיריית אילת בשנת 1984 והינה בבעלות מלאה של עיריית אילת.
החברה משמשת כזרוע הביצועית של עיריית אילת – יוזמת, מבצעת ומנהלת פרויקטים הנדסיים, כלכליים ואחרים לרווחת העיר אילת, תושביה ואורחיה, בהתאם לחזון ולמדיניות של הנהלת העירייה.
החברה פועלת שנים רבות כחברה מנהלת, מפתחת ובונה במגוון פרויקטים בעיר אילת, מתוקף הרשאות לתכנון ופיתוח מרשות מקרקעי ישראל, עיריית אילת ובמסגרת ניהול פרויקטים עבור משרד הבינוי והשיכון.
החברה הוכיחה יכולת הנדסית וניהולית בפרויקטים אותם ביצעה בעיר אילת כחברה מפתחת ומנהלת.
לחברה הידע והניסיון ההנדסי, המתאים לצרכים התכנוניים הייחודיים לעיר אילת, הן מבחינת תנאי הקרקע, הן מבחינת מערכות התשתית הקיימות והן מבחינת דרישות העירייה העדכניות.
החברה נוקטת מדיניות של העדפת כוחות אדריכליים והנדסיים מקומיים, בעלי יכולת מקצועית מוכחת, מתוך כוונה להעניק חיזוק כלכלי לתושבי העיר. הדבר נעשה תוך בקרה הדוקה ובלתי אמצעית עם כל נותני השירותים לחברה, לקבלת תוצאה מיטבית מבחינת הרמה המקצועית ורמת השירות.
מטרות החברה
לקיים, לפתח, ליזום, להקים, לעודד ולתחזק פרויקטים לקידומה ולרווחתה של אילת, תושביה ואורחיה בתחומי התיירות, התעשייה, המלאכה, המסחר, התחבורה, התרבות, המדע, החינוך, ובכל תחום אחר שאינו בגדר אספקת שירותים שהם בסמכותה של עיריית אילת.
